The project aims at creating a scalable system of intelligent urban furniture connected together as nodes of a network of data collection and processing, which, in turn, aims to increase the well-being of citizens by implementing the efficiency, accessibility and functionality of public services. The interconnected urban furniture will be a “digital island” where technological and physical components will be integrated and where also users mobile phones may interact. The project idea of creating an innovative urban furniture focuses on two key issues: the provision of services to the citizen smart and the provision of a network of sensors that can monitor urban environmental phenomena and dynamically notify the local authority, improving urban security.
