Shanghai - Energy-efficient technology advances and respect for the environment are the themes of the Shanghai International Technology Fair, due to open April 21- 23. Italy's Ansaldo Energia will participate in a joint venture with Shanghai Electric. Gas turbines will be at the centre of the exhibition area assigned to the two groups. The exhibit will narrate the story of Ansaldo Energia and Shanghai Electric through images, videos and documents. "We will emphasise the highlights of our story representing the progress of technology, in accordance with the theme of the Fair. Products will be showcased, particularly gas turbines, which will be presented in a scale model focusing on the operational aspects, including two rotating palettes to show the details of the cutting-edge technology of this component. The message of our cooperation, of this long-term strategic agreement between Shanghai Electric and Ansaldo Energia, is to represent technology seen as innovation and as a success story on the market," said Luigi Minervini, deputy sales vice president of Shanghai Electric Gas Turbines, during an interview with AGI.
Innovation for the implementation of smart cities, which is one of the main themes of the Fair, means making Chinese cities more viable with environmentally-friendly technologies, explained Minervini. "Gas turbines guarantee, in the production of fossil fuels, a low carbon footprint and a greater visibility. It is also possible to design solutions to guarantee remote heating systems and lower the greenhouse gas emissions," Minervini added. Italy and China together can look beyond the horizon, also thanks to the support of the institutions and of Italy's Consulate General in Shanghai, which contributed in organising the event. "The idea is that of working together with Chinese colleagues and to promote and develop a new technology, ensuring innovation and enhancing our presence on Asian markets, which today represent a large share of the global energy market," said Minervini.
