(AGI) Shanghai, April 21 - CNH Industrial is present at the Shanghai Technology Fair, where it focuses on the transformation of China's agriculture and its long-distance transport. The 3-day fair was opened on Thursday, with Italy as guest of honour. The U.S.-Italian company will present three brands: Case IH, New Holland and Iveco, which together can change China's agriculture - which is increasingly leaning towards large companies - and long-haul system. Michele Lombardi, Iveco's head of the Chinese market, told AGI: "For Case IH (the agricultural equipment brand), we bring our combine which is produced in China. Its highly innovative axial flow technology was developed by us. It has a different set-up from other combines, making it more versatile." The new model 71-40 is produced locally in the plant in Harbin that was opened in 2014. The mechanisation of agriculture is also boosted by the T4 tractor that was developed by New Holland. "It is very versatile for fruit and vegetable farming," Lombardi continued, "with four-wheel drive and supersteer technology that allows for a very tight turning circle and easy steering." For innovations to China's long-haul system, CNH Industrial will propose its new Iveco Stralis lorry. "It is the most innovative product we have for long-distance road transport, which is an extremely important segment in China. It must develop from a rather local to a more western product with greater comfort and safety." The products presented by CNH Industrial, Mr Lombardi continued, are in line with the needs for more mechanised agriculture and more sophisticated urbanisation, emphasised in the development plans of the Chinese government. "Italian technology is highly appreciated. Major Chinese groups, not just the small ones, have a great interest in finding partners with the technologies that they themselves do not have or that would take them a long time to develop. I expect a lot of attention and a lot of respect." (AGI) .
