(AGI) Muscat, April 10 - Italian fashion hit the catwalk inOman, where the Italian Embassy organised two events. One was alesson on the evolution of Italian fashion from the 1950s tothe present, presented by Guillermo Mariotto, creative directorof Maison Gattinoni, while the other was a fashion show of the2015 Spring/Summer collection, with accessories and jewelleryspecially designed for the Maison. Fashion and design studentsattended Mariotto's lesson, which went through the major stagesof Italian fashion and pret-a-porter, highlighting creations ofsome of the most prominent Italian designers, manufacturers,textiles, as well as the importance of the industry as a whole.Two days later, the fashion show opened with a dress which wasa tribute to Ferrari, designed for the event. It then featuredthe latest creations of the 'Couture a la carte' collection,inspired by the theme of Expo Milan 2015. The Italian Embassyin Muscat launched a competition called 'Fashion and Food Madein Italy', for the Oman Higher College of Technology's FashionDepartment students, who were invited to submit sketchesinterpreting the theme of fashion and food. The student who wonthe competition will be able to visit Maison Gattinoni in Romeand hold a brief traineeship there. (AGI). .
