(AGI) Vatican City, Aug 26 - The Osservatore Romano has paidhomage to Ingrid Bergman's beauty, an icon of European cinema,on the 100th anniversary of her birth. It was also the 34thanniversary of her death. The Vatican newspaper recalled "thetiny dimples on her cheeks which have enchanted, and stillenchant, generation of movie lovers." It went on: "EvenHollywood appreciated those 'dimples'." They were an expressionof a mixture "of intriguing charm, sweetness and class, pairedwith the disarming skill of interpreting a wide range ofroles". It said these turned Ingrid Bergman into "one of themost remarkable icons of cinema, an icon unaffected by timepassing". (AGI).
