(AGI) Cannes, May 21 - Gaspar Noe, who previously made peopletalk with the rape scene in "Irreversible" starring MonicaBellucci, has created an uproar at this year's Cannes FilmFestival with his film "Love." Noe's 3D porn film opens with aclose-up of a hand on a member, and then an ever escalatingseries of explicit sex scenes between the two leadingcharacters: in bed, in a passageway, in the bathroom, and in athreesome with a transsexual, although one of them isn't keenon it, finally culminating with ejaculation onto the audiencein 3D. A big crowd queued for the midnight screening onWednesday at the Lumiere Theatre, and again on Thursday morningfor the press screening, with many journalists unable to getin. "My film is about life and love. Sex is part of our lives.Everybody thinks about sex," said the director speaking aboutthe explicit scenes in his film, which screened out ofcompetition. "For years, I have dreamed of making a film thatwould fully reproduce the passion of a young couple in love, inall its physical and emotional excesses. Love is reality and isnot at all unpleasant," he continued. The director tells thestory of Murphy (Karl Glusman), who recalls his passionateaffair with Electra (Aomi Muyock), with whom he is still inlove. He is now married to Omi (Klara Kristin), with whom hehad a child by accident. His memories of course range overtheir sex life in its normal and extreme aspects. "There is noform of transgression in my film. Before me came Pasolini,Fassbinder and Bunuel. I also had the opportunity to shoot in3D," Noe continued. He commented on the choice of 3D: "I wantedto try to immerse the viewers in this story so they couldidentify with the characters and 3D allowed me to create imagesmore real than reality." Speaking of the actors who weretotally naked, Muyock said: "I felt embarrassed on the firstday of shooting and then everything passed." Glusman, who isalso in new films by Refn and Emmerich, said it wasn't easy atfirst: "I wanted to run away. I did not feel at ease with acamera in front of my genitals. Then I got used to it. Mymother is very proud of the film presented in Cannes. ... WhenI was younger I had a complex about showing my body in front ofmy mother. Now I am over this complex because why not showyourself? We're all beautiful.". .
