(AGI) London, April 6 - Daniel Craig has had arthroscopicsurgery to repair the knee injury he suffered while shootingone of the action scenes in Spectre, the latest chapter of theJames Bond saga. He first got hurt while shooting anaction sequence in the Austrian Alps in January, British mediareported. The injury got worse in February, when he wasshooting a fight scene in Pinewood Studios, just outsideLondon. Taking advantage of the Easter holidays to leave theset in Mexico and travel to New York for his operation, Craigis expected back by April 22. Meantime, to avoid wasting timeor money, Spectre's British director Sam Mendes has decided tocontinue filming the scenes in which the star actor, who isplaying the seductive Secret Agent 007 for the fourth time,plays no part. Nor was this the first time that theBritish actor got hurt while portraying James Bond, probablybecause of the passion he puts into action scenes. Craig alsogot hurt on location in Rome, during a pursuit, when his AstonMartin drove into one of the Italian capital's renownedpotholes. In 2008, when shooting Quantum of Solace, he hurt hiswrist and head and had to have an operation on his collarbone,which obliged him to walk the red carpet at the premiere withhis arm in a sling.
