(AGI) - New Delhi, Jan 2 - Italy is witnessing influx of tourists from India in the last few years. National Tourism Board of Italy (ENIT) reported growth of almost 49 percent in tourist arrivals in Italy from India in 2015 compared to 2014. ENIT opened office in India in 2000, since then the growth has been around 20 percent every year. ENIT India representative, Salvatore lanniello, said: "The number of people visiting Italy from India has been continuously increasing. India is an important market for Italy. The number of tourists visiting Italy from India touched 465,000 travellers in 2015."India is the fifth largest market for Italy after North America, Europe, Japan and China. Indian tourists now-a-days prefer to go to European destinations and Italy and France are the countries which fascinates them. Recent incidents of earthquake in parts of Italy has not affected Indian tourists much. ENIT plans to organize many roadshows in different Indian cities in 2017 to attract tourists. Italy plans to attract luxury travellers from India and promote new products like wine tourism, wellness and spa. (AGI) .
