(AGI) Rome, Dec 24 - An air transport license has been issuedto the new Alitalia group by the Italian Civil AviationAuthority. It said after the airline was relaunched andrefinanced on Tuesday that "Alitalia Societa' Aerea Italiana(Alitalia SAI) received an Air Operator Certificate and an AirTransport Licence, which will be effective from Jan. 1, 2015".The authority has issued "the company Revision 1 of AirOperator Certificate IT.AOC.130 for change of company name andEdition 1 of Air Transport Licence no. I-L 435 to Alitalia -Societa' Aerea Italiana SpA with effect from 00:01 am on Jan.1, 2015". The authority's president, Vito Riggio, thanked hisagency for its speedy handling of the transition, which ensuredcontinuity of service. He said he hoped that "this new phase ofthe company, Alitalia, will contribute to the revival ofnational air transport at a time when the industry has felt,despite some early signs of recovery, the reflections of thegeneral economic crisis". . .
