(AGI) Budapest, May 21 - A meeting on war propaganda on thecentenary of Italy's entry into the First World War wasorganised by the Italian Cultural Institute of Budapest. Itfocuses on the "Tyrolean Soldiers' Newspaper" (TirolerSoldaten-Zeitung) which was published during the war byLandesverteidigungskommando Tyrol. The newspaper includedliterary and advertising supplements, sophisticated graphicsand particularly iconography, reproducing the works of severalartists. In its final years it was edited by Robert Musil,already a famous author. For a few months an Italianversion of the newspaper "Giornale del Soldato Tirolese" waspublished along with a little-known Hungarian one called TiroliKatona-Ujsag. Copies of Tiroli Katona-Ujsag were found inarchives and libraries by the Centre for Southeast EuropeanStudies. They will be in the Federico Fellini hall, with areconstruction of the history of the newspaper and an analysisof the topics covered. The meeting will be attended byDavide Zaffi and Fernando Orlandi from the studies centre andHungarian Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjen. It was organisedby the Italian National Committee for the Celebration of theCentenary of the First World War and the Hungarian First WorldWar Centenary Memorial Committee and the 20th CenturyInstitute.
