(AGI) Luanda, Nov 20 - 'Mayombe' by Angolan author ArturPestana, known as Pepetela, was presented in Luanda in theItalian edition. The initiative was promoted by the Union ofAngolan Writers (UEA) during the 14th Edition of the ItalianLanguage in the World organised by the Italian Embassy in theAngolan capital. Pepetela, with 23 books published since 1978,is the best-known writer in the world of Angolan literature.Mayombe was his third book and was published in 1980. It tellsthe story of the armed national liberation movement against thecountry's colonisation by Portugal. In 1997 Pepetela wasawarded the Camoes Prize, the most important prize forPortuguese-language literature. (AGI) . .
