(AGI) Rome, Oct. 14 - China's Xinhua and Italy's AGI newsagencies have agreed to work closer together. The vicepresident of the official press agency of the People's Republicof China, Long Xinnan, on Wednesday met with AGI CEO AlessandroPica and director Roberto Iadicicco at the headquarters of theAgenzia Giornalistica Italia (AGI) in Rome. Both agencies haveexpressed interest in strengthening their cooperation:"AgiChina is AGI's portal, and has been providing informationand advice to our companies interested in doing business withChina," said Alessandro Pica. "Last year the portal wasenriched by a new service, Italy Daily, bringing news on theeconomy and Italian industry in the Chinese language, incollaboration with our longstanding partner Xinhua," added theCEO. Long Xinnan reiterated Xinhua's interest in working closertogether with AGI in business and other news. "New media andthe Internet are the areas of development for futurecooperation," Long concluded.
