(AGI) - Accra, 26 nov. - The chinese government has pledged todeepen existing trade ties with resource rich Ghana. Theambassador to the West African country, Sun Boahong, who madethe pledge, explained that the determination of the Asianeconomic power house, to deepen its trade ties with Ghana wasfor mutual benefit of their people. She encouraged captains ofindustry in both nations to take full advantage of the businessopportunities and build stronger partnerships. She was speakingat the "Ghana-China Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum" heldin the country's second capital, Kumasi. The event was jointly organised by the country's ministryof Trade and Industry and the Ghana-China FriendshipAssociation with support from Zenith Bank. It provided theplatform for business leaders in the two countries to dialogueand find ways to boost investments. The forum also offeredghanaian entrepreneurs and their chinese counterparts, togetherwith other stakeholders, the chance to interact with policymakers and other key agents with a view to improving trade andinvestment. Sun said China's cooperation with Africa wasrapidly being transformed from the general merchandise trade toinvestment collaboration to help achieve real economicdevelopment. The goal, she said, was to support the growth ofthe continent, create wealth and fight poverty. "The importantthing to do is for the business community to be innovative andenter into partnerships to expand their operations andreturns," she said. It should be a win-win cooperation," sheadded. Meanwhile, many completed and ongoing infrastructuredevelopment projects in the country have had significantsupport from the relationship the country has with the chinesegovernment. (AGI).
