European House-Ambrosetti launches first Italy-Iran summit

(AGI) Rome, Nov 26 - The introductory edition of Iran-ItalySummit organised by The European House-Ambrosetti will takeplace in Tehran on Apr. 18 and 19, 2016. Following the successof the first two editions of the South Africa-Italy Summit, theaim of this gathering is to create a platform for high-levelmeeting between Italian and Iranian business leaders andinstitutions, in order to revive and strengthen strategic,economic and political relations between Iran and Italy. Iranis a leading country and point of access to a strategic regionof great importance with an immense cultural and economicpotential, and the gateway to Europe for all neighbouringlandlocked countries. Iran and Italy have a long and fruitfuleconomic and political relationship due also, but not only, toa strong complementarity in key industrial areas. For thisreason, The European House-Ambrosetti aims to re-establish afriendly and cooperative relationship with the country, withthe creation of an annual event in Iran at the highest leveland on a continuing basis. The ultimate aim is to establishover time a "community of leaders", able to interact, sharevisions and develop new and profitable partnershipopportunities. "The signing of the JCPOA (Joint ComprehensivePlan of Action) on July 14 is key step towards the beginning ofa new era of positive relations between Western countries andIran. We believe that Italy can and must play a central role inthis challenge," said Paolo Borzatta, Senior Partner and headof international projects of The European House-Ambrosetti. TheSummit - by invitation only and intended for the bosses ofItaly and Iran's leading companies - will focus on the majorchallenges for the development of business relations betweenthe two countries. The debate will pivot around a number of keyissues including: - the evolution of the banking and financialsystem; - energy value chains (oil and gas, renewable energy,etc.); - infrastructure and mobility; - the challenges andopportunities of the manufacturing sector, especially cars,machinery and equipment. The European House-Ambrosetti willparticipate in the business mission in Tehran of Nov. 28-30,2015, where they will meet members of the Advisory Board of theSummit (Iranian) and leading representatives of the Iranianbusiness community and institutions.
