The 32-year-old, Roman-born but Sienese by adoption,number 69 in the ATP ranking and number two in the seeding,beat Spain's Pere Riba, ranked 117, by 6-4 6-0. He facesArgentina's 22-year-old Renzo Olivo, ranked 326, who made itthrough to the playoffs. The tournament has a 50,000 dollarprize and is played on red clay courts. . .
