EMILIA ROMAGNA EXHIBITION OPENS IN VENEZUELA

(VELINO) Roma, 15 Oct - An exhibition on Emilia Romagna regionis being held in Venezuela from Oct. 15 to 31 at the Casad'Italia in Maracay. The event has been organised by theCommittee of Emilia-Romagna region in the World and theEmiliano-Romagnoli Association in Venezuela, in partnershipwith the Italian Cultural Institute (IIC) in Caracas. The aimof the exhibition, which is one of the initiatives for the Yearof Italy in Latin America, is to enable people to learn aboutthe history of the region, its most prominent figures, and thepeople who have brought the world the region's talents andcreativity, illustrated by the wonderful paintings of artistSergio Tisselli. The exhibition has its origins in a series"Pictures and words from Emilia-Romagna" consisting of threepublications, entitled "Nine steps in history - The story ofEmilia-Romagna", "The world in one country - People and placesin Emilia -Romagna" and "In Search of elsewhere - Stories fromEmilia Romagna in the world", published in recent years.However, Caracas is just one stop for the exhibition, which inrecent months has been to Santa Fe' in Argentina and Chile.Indeed, after this stop it goes to Brazil, Australia and theUnited States. The exhibition is part of the "Year of Italy inLatin America", sponsored by the Foreign Ministry inpartnership with the Ministries of Culture and Tourism,Economic Development, the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade(ICE), the Conference of Rectors of Italian Universities andwith the contribution of many companies. Over the 12 monthsapproximately 200 events are showcasing the cultural, economic,scientific and technological strengths of contemporary Italy.The primary goal of this ambitious and complex project is topromote Italy's identity and talents in Latin America. vel.
