(VELINO) Roma, 28 Sep - Italy is taking centre stage at the 67th International Astronautical Congress in Guadalajara, Mexico, with a mixed delegation from the Italian Space Agency (ASI), led by President Roberto Battiston, numerous businesses, and a pool of researchers. Italy's will be the third largest presence after the U.S. and China, with 181 presentations out of 2,736 and two exhibition stands of the ASI and of the Italian Trade Agency (ICE). Italy's Ambassador to Mexico, Alessandro Busacca, took part in the opening ceremony on 26 September, while the Congress will close on 30 September. The event is organised by the International Astronautical Federation, the International Academy of Astronautics, the International Institute of Space Law, and - at a local level - by the Mexican Space Agency and Ministry of Communication and Transportation. The International Astronautical Congress is the sector's leading annual event and gathers businesses, scientists, and presidents of space agencies from all over the world. vel
