(VELINO) Roma, 29 Jul - Italy will be present at the 2016 Festival of Light, which will be held in 25 Argentinian cities from August 1 to September 30. The Italian Cultural Institute (IIC) in Buenos Aires will coordinate Italy's presence at the Festival and will also participate actively with numerous initiatives. From August 2 to 31, it will organise the exhibition "Sguardi Illusori" (Illusory Glances) by three Argentinian artists - Graciana Piaggio, Silvia Macario, and Lorena Sanvitale - who will display their works on their life experiences and their personal takes on life. Italy will also take part in the Festival's International Portfolio Review Forum, in which photographers meet with various internationally-renowned figures, including museum directors, gallery owners, curators, collection, and publishers. The Forum will be held from August 8 to 12. Laura Serani will curate the event and sit on the jury alongside prominent colleagues from 11 other countries. At 6.30 p.m. on Monday, August 8, photographer Andrea Valsecchi will inaugurate his exhibition "Metamondo" at the Centro Cultural San Martin. Valsecchi's images explore the fine line dividing the real world from the virtual world in contemporary society. Overall, the 2016 Festival will feature 62 sections, 110 exhibitions, and 300 artists from 26 countries. This year's guest nation will be South Korea. The Festival's programme also includes movie sessions, conferences, and various workshops. vel
