The event, designed to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Italian writer Giorgio Bassani, will be attended by the writer's daughter Paola Bassani Pacht. Giorgio Bassani (1916-2000) was a prominent figure in Italy's cultural scene in the second half of the 20th century. A writer, university professor, scriptwriter, and editor, he penned novels such as "The Garden of the Finzi-Continis", "The Gold-Rimmed Spectacles", "Five Stories of Ferrara", "The Heron", and "The Smell of Hay".
