(VELINO) Roma, 11 Aug - Italy is taking part in this year's Fete de la BD in Brussels after last year's successful entry. The Italian Cultural Institute and Lucca Comics & Games have collaborated with the Brussels-based bookshop Piolalibri to create an exhibition on the noir genre. It will feature the works of ten contemporary artists and a selection of their work. This will help the Belgian public to discover comics that are famous in Italy but relatively unknown abroad. The Italian stand will feature three high calibre comic artists: Mirka Andolfo, the acclaimed author of the "Sacro/Profano" series; Riccardo Pieruccini, a prominent comic artist and illustrator who works with many publishers and Gigi Cavenago, the winner of the 2014 Lucca Comics & Games' Gran Guinigi prize for best cartoonist. The three will exhibit their skills in a live comic battle, in which they must recount their positive and negative experiences at the Fete de la BD. vel
