(VELINO) Roma, 23 Jun - Italy is among the key players at the Belo Horizonte music festival. On the occasion of the event, the Italian consulate in the Brazilian city presented the "O Clube da Esquina encontra a Italia" concert at the Museum do Clube da Esquina. The concert was organised by the consulate general, in collaboration with the museum and the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism (MIBACT). An opening medley of Brazilian songs performed by Telo Borges, star of the Clube, was followed by a performance by the Italo-Brazilian singer Melissa Freire, with Clovis Aguiar on piano. The duo played unforgettable songs by Italian artists with ties to Brazil, like Sergio Bardotti, Sergio Endrigo, Ivano Fossati, Fiorella Mannoia and Bruno Lauzi. The event was part of the celebrations for the Year of Italy in Latin America, an initiative promoted by the Foreign Ministry, MIBACT, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) and the Conference of rectors of Italian Universities, with the contribution of many companies. During this special year, more than 200 events showcase contemporary Italy and its culture, economy, science and technology. An ambitious and complex project that primarily aims to seek out Italian talent in South America. vel
