(VELINO) Roma, 23 Jun - Pianist William Tatge will perform in a concert from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, 28 June, at the Italian Cultural Institute in New York. The musician, who performs jazz, classical music and improvisations, will be accompanied by Pablo Menares at the double bass and Nick Anderson at the drums. Born in Umbria from American parents, Tatge lived in Todi and Florence until he moved to New York in 2008. He has performed across Europe and South America, Japan, Canada and United States in solo piano concerts, in bands and accompanying singers. He has also played in numerous festivals such as the Musicus Concentus in Florence, the Imprudences Festival in Paris, at the Wesleyan University, in the New York Winter Jazz Fest and Montreal Jazz Festival. He regularly performs in New York clubs such as the 55 Bar, Zinc Bar, Kitano and Blue Note. In 2009 Tatge released his first solo album, Mutable Enclosures, for which he received excellent reviews on All About Jazz and Jazz Review. In 2012, he cooperated with multimedia artist Christine Meisner in the production of Disquieting Nature, a musical video project on landscape, history and the music of the Mississippi delta. The production is a world premiere performed recorded live at Berlin's Haus der Kulturen der Welt at the documentary Forum 2. The film was then screened in many prestigious museums and festivals throughout Europe and the United States and received positive reviews by the New York Times. In 2014, Tatge recorded the album Borderlands with the Last Call quartet together with Stefano Tamborrino, Francesco Ponticelli and Dan Kinzelman. The album was released in March 2015 under the label of Auditorium Parco della Musica. He is now working on a new album in a trio with Pablo Menares and Nick Anderson. Tatge has a degree in classical piano and composition from the Cherubini Conservatory of Florence, where he studied with Gabriella Barsotti, Rosario Mirigliano and Romano Pezzati. He then went on to study piano jazz and improvisation with Stefano Bollani, Stefano Battaglia, Franco D'Andrea, Paolo Birro and Enrico Pieranunzi. vel
