(VELINO) Roma, 9 Mar - Brazil celebrates the First Italian Design Day in the world. For the occasion, which is organised by the Foreign Ministry worldwide to promote Italy and its way of life, the diplomatic network will be hosting a number of events in the Curitiba, Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro offices. In Curitiba, Italian designer Anna Gilli took part in several conferences to discuss the role that designers can play in developing cities and in public policy. In Sao Paulo, the local Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) held a number of events on this theme, including a lecture by designer Massimo Giacon. Lastly, in Rio de Janeiro, on 11 March, the IED will host meetings with designer Jacopo Foggini and the Italian-Brazilian duo of designers Fernando and Humberto Campana. To celebrate Italian Design Day in the world, more than 100 Italian diplomatic and consular offices hosted 100 "Ambassadors" of Italian culture: not only designers but also entrepreneurs, journalists, critics, communicators and teachers who talk about their own project of excellence in the sector of design, sharing their experiences and testimonies. vel
