(VELINO) Roma, 14 Feb - The Italian Consulate in New York will host the first of the 2017 "Meet the New Italians of New York" series on February 21. The opening event will be dedicated to the world of research and enjoy the presence of many distinguished guests: Elena Aprile, Ph.D. (Professor, Physics Department, Columbia University), Luca Carloni, Ph.D. (Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, Columbia University), Michele Pagano, M.D. (Chair Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology, May Ellen and Gerald Hay Ritter Professor of Oncology, New York University School of Medicine; Investigator, Howard Hughes Medical Institute), Maurizio Profiri, Ph.D. (Professor, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering New York University Tandon School of Enineering), Andrea Ventura, M.D., Ph.D (Associate Member, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center). Riccardo Lattanzi, Ph.D. (Associate Professor Radiology, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Director of Training, Center for Advanced Imaging Innovation and Research, New York University) will chair a debate during which the invited speakers will talk about the experiences, difficulties and the opportunities they had while developing their professional lives in New York. The event will be yet another occasion to explore the possibilities New York City can offer to researchers in diverse professional fields. The 'Meet the New Italians of New York' is a series of events addressing a wide range of sectors, with a view to provide a place where to meet and exchange ideas and information for the new generations of Italians coming to a city which is full of opportunities such as New York.
