(VELINO) Roma, 13 Feb - Italy took a leading role in the latest edition of the International Embassy Fair, the one of 2016. The event is one of Brasilia's major charity events and took place at "ExpoBrasilia" on 12 November of last year. The figures recently published by the organisers revealed that the event was attended by more than 40,000 visitors. Italy, one of the 107 Nations participating in the Fair, was represented by more than 20 companies which participated in the initiative with a financial contribution or with products sold at the Fair. The success recorded by the Italian stand in selling the products donated - that involved almost the whole staff of the Italian Embassy in Brasilia, together with their families, in a consolidated effort of volunteer work - together by the donations of companies, was testified by the collection of 135,629.80 Reais out of a total of 856,893.88, amounting to over 15% of the total sum collected. This result not only positions Italy on top of the "ranking" of donor Countries for 2016 but also represents the largest contribution ever collected in the Fair's twelve previous editions. The proceeds will be devolved to charitable organisations providing assistance to the needy and operating in different places in Brazil, thus enabling them to implement new projects also thanks to Italy, the "champion" of solidarity. vel
