(VELINO) Roma, 8 Feb - Salento's music arrives in New Delhi tomorrow, 9 February, thanks to the Italian Cultural Institute and to the India International Centre, which have organised a performance of the Officina Zoe', the band formed in 1993 on the inspiration of Lamberto Probo, Donatello Pisanello and Cinzia Marzo. The band was the main driver of the rebirth of Salento's traditional music which is now being projected onto the international scene. The strength of the band lies in its constant pursuit of the trance condition and on the looping rhythm of the arcane ritual of the "Pizzica". With the passing of time, Salento's music and dances broke out of the confines of folk traditions and were rediscovered, giving life to a new cultural and commercial phenomenon celebrated in popular festivals such as the "Notte della Taranta", which every year attracts thousands of enthusiasts. vel
