Jakarta - Sapori Deli in Fairmont Jakarta specifically has invited Chef Antonio Facchinetti from Prego, a renowned Italian restaurant in Singapore located in the Fairmont Singapore. On 16 and March 17, 2017, Chef Antonio will serves Italian specialties, as well as hold interactive cooking demo in which the guests can learn how to cook classic Italian dishes with the best method.
"We are very pleased to bring back the guest chef to Fairmont Jakarta who brings enthusiasm and memorable culinary experience for our guests," Alvaro Acebal, Director of Food & Beverage at the Fairmont Jakarta said. Previously, he said, Fairmont Jakarta successfully held several culinary event in collaboration with renowned chefs, including Michelin-starred Chef Francesc Rovira from Spain and Michelin-starred Chef Kirk Westaway from JAAN in Singapore.

Chef Antonio is known for his experience in Italian cuisine, in which he has been exploring the world in culinary journey. Derived from Ponte di Legno (Brescia) in the region of Lombardy, his career was started in 1987 at Vessani, a restaurant awarded two Michelin stars in Orvieto. He then had to cross the ocean to join the famous restaurant named Rex Il Ristorante in downtown Los Angeles that is often visited by Hollywood stars. In 1999, Chef Antonio became one of the owners of the restaurant Il Baretto in Sydney, Australia, dubbed as Best Cafe' Restaurant by the Sydney Morning Herald's in 2001. His expertise of cooking was honed over 25 years in restaurants in Italy, USA, Germany, Australia, Thailand and now Singapore.
Despite being away from her hometown of Milan, Chef Antonio clings to the Italian culinary roots and occasionally returns to his hometown for tasting and exploring the best Italian dishes and the most authentic. "The pasta must be made anew, by hand and passion. If the dishes you made get thumbs-up from your mother, meaning the food was tasty enough for everyone to enjoy, " the chef said.
