(AGI) Kiev, Sept 16 - The Verkhovna Rada or Supreme Council ofUkraine, approved a law on Tuesday providing greater autonomyfor the two Russian-speaking separatist regions of Donetsk andLugansk, in eastern Ukraine. The law was one of the points inthe ceasefire agreement signed by the Kiev government andpro-Russian separatists on Sept. 5 in Belarus. The agreementprovided for "special status" and three years of autonomy forthe Donetsk and Lugansk regions. The agreement also included anamnesty for pro-Russian militias who did not commit seriouscrimes and were not involved in the downing of the MalaysiaAirlines flight carrying 298 passengers in mid-June over thecity of Donetsk. . .
