German anti-Euro party makes gains in Thuringia

(AGI) Berlin, Sept 14 - Angela Merkel's CDU party lost groundas the anti-Euro AFD party (Alternative for Germany) made gainsin Thuringia and Brandenburg, where it obtained 10 percent and12 percent of the vote respectively, according to the exitpolls during the regional election. Two weeks ago, the AFD got9.7 percent in Saxony. In Thuringia, the CDU obtained 34.5percent but it is still not clear whether it will be able tostay in power.
