(AGI) Rome, June 1 - The two Roma Gypsey teens involved in ahit-and-run accident in Rome were arrested by the police onMonday after absconding for five days with no food, cell phoneor money. They are accused of being responsible for theaccident in which a woman was killed last Wednesday on viaMattia Battistini in Rome. The two are brothers, 17 and 19years old, and they were hiding in a field, where Flying Squadinvestigators found them dirty and starving. The older brotherwas visibly wounded on his right leg. As soon as they saw thepolice coming, they both burst into tears without howevermentioning a word about the accident. Luigi Silico, the chiefof the Flying Squad reported: "From the time of the accident,we started looking for the 17-year-old, who had managed toescape. Without pause, we searched nomad camps and shadowedseveral huts. We interrogated the witnesses several timesduring the investigation and we managed to exclude theinvolvement of other suspects."
