(AGI) Naples, May 6 - The House of the Small Fountain, one ofthe most elegant residences of the ancient city of Pompeii, hasreopened after restoration. The house faced Via di Mercurio, afew steps from the Forum, and was named after thefountain-nymphaeum placed in the garden and adorned by refinedmosaics. The restoration was completed in 135 days, ahead ofschedule, and cost around 240,000 euros. Most of this sum, some200,000 euros, was paid by the Great Pompeii Project, aninitiative of the Italian government aimed at protecting thearchaeological site. The rest was financed through
