To celebrate the National Day of Djibouti, the small, cosmopolitan country located between the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, has organized a series of meetings that will continue until late afternoon. The opening ceremony which will begin with a short performance and the usual flag raising ceremony and the national anthems, is scheduled to begin at 10:30.
From the Expo Centre to the Kazakhstani Pavilion
The representative leading the African delegation, H.E. Ahmed Ali Silay, Minister of International Cooperation, is scheduled to visit the Expo Plaza for the welcoming speech. At 11:00 the delegation will move on to visit the Djibouti Pavilion, and then to Palazzo Italia where he will meet the Italian authorities and attend the official lunch. At the end of the visit, H.E. Ahmed Ali Silay will tour the Kazakhstan Pavilion, then at 17:00 he will go to the Conference Centre for an economic meeting open to the public.
Djibouti and the need to interact with other Countries
Djibouti is a State full of marine and land biodiversity thanks to its dense mangrove forests and the presence of its barrier reef. To confront the growing environmental uncertainty generated by climate change and imminent desertification, Djibouti is participating in the Universal Exposition inside the Arid Zones Cluster to introduce itself and seek to interact and collaborate with other countries of the Planet.
