(AGI) Rome, Sept 17 - Labour reform amendments designed toprogressively increase job security for employees withpermanent contracts were approved by the Italian Senate'sLabour Committee on Wednesday. The amendments were submitted bythe government with just hours before the package's deferral tothe Senate Budget Committee. With Prime Minister Matteo Renzipushing for a relaxation of fair dismissal clauses in Italy'slabour laws, the move towards new forms of permanent contractwas seen as a bargaining chip with trade unions.
