Italian retail sales rise 2. 6 percent
(AGI) Rome, June 25 - Italian retail sales rose 0.4 percent inApril over the previous month, reported statistics agencyISTAT. The seasonally adjusted average for the quarter fromFebruary to April was unchanged from the previous three months.Sales of food rose 1.2 percent over March, and sales ofnon-food products fell 0.1 percent. The raw index of totalsales was up 2.6 percent compared to April last year. Foodsales increased by 6.7 percent, and sales of of non-foodproducts were up 0.2 percent. (AGI) . .
