A great protagonist of the history of Italian songwriters will close the musical season of Expo Milano 2015. Francesco De Gregori will be performing at the Open Air Theater San Carlo, the space dedicated to major events, on Sunday, October 25 at 21:00 hours. Admission is free, subject to availability of seats, for Expo Milano 2015 ticket holders (either day or evening entry).
Born in 1951, Francesco De Gregori is the most representative singer-songwriter in the history of Italian music. Hits like Generale, Pezzi di vetro, La donna cannone, Titanic, albums like "Francesco De Gregori", "Viva l'Italia", the live "Il bandito e il campione" have thrilled three generations and will always stay in the memory of Italy's national music. The inspiration of the texts of Fabrizio De Andre' and Bob Dylan's songs, to whom he dedicates the album "De Gregori canta Bob Dylan - Amore e Furto" released on October 30, is a common thread that has accompanied his career from the beginning. Famous are his collaborations born from his friendship with Antonello Venditti, Giovanna Marini and Lucio Dalla, to the synergy with Malika Ayane, Caparezza, Elisa, Fedez, Fausto Leali, Ligabue, Giuliano Sangiorgi, and many others, demonstrated with the concert event "Rimmel 2015", created to celebrate the 40th anniversary of a important album for the Italian singer-songwriter world.
The protagonist of the Universal Exposition Music
Artists from all over the world have performed on the stage of the Open Air Theater San Carlo, in line with the international spirit of Expo Milano 2015. The beauty, the colors and the art of the Cirque du Soleil attracted thousands of spectators until August 30 with the show ALLAVITA!, conceived especially for Expo Milano 2015. After this, the open-air theater has hosted some great international music: from The Kolors to Elisa, from Edoardo Bennato to the Inti-Illimani, from Italian hip hop with the Marracash, Gue' Pequeno and Emis Killa to soul crooner Mario Biondi, until the Lombard tradition of Van De Sfroos (scheduled for Saturday, October 17).
