That's a disastrous and big statement for Kiran to maketo me," said Khan which was quoted by Indian Express newspaperwho organized the program. In the last few months, many Indian scientists, historiansand filmmakers returned their state awards against what theycalled raising intolerance in the country. They had cited themurder of rationalists MM Kalburgi and Govind Pansare, apartfrom the lynching of a man in India over rumours of consumingbeef, as an examples of growing intolerance in the country.However, his statement reinvigorated the debate about toleranceon social media with many speaking for and against him.
