(AGI) Stockholm, March 17 - Italy's Campania region isshowcasing the best of its agrifood products in Stockholm."Eccellenze Campane", has been organised by the Campaniaregional government, the Italian Embassy and the ICE agency forlocal suppliers and distributors. A seminar on theMediterranean Diet was organised with the Karolinska Institute.The event included a tasting session in the residence ofItalian Ambassador, Elena Basile, which was attended by morethan 100 people including diplomats, politicians andentrepreneurs. Ambassador Basile explained how traditional"Made in Italy" production has been innovated and described howregional products made by rural communities enable traditionsto pass from one generation to the next. She also underlinedthe importance of preserving food quality in a globalisedeconomy, and raising awareness on fighting against foodcounterfeiting which cause losses for Italian exporters and alack of transparency in the market which hits consumers. Shesaid Expo 2015, which opens on May 1 in Milan, would be a forumfor a global debate on food and nutrition. She hoped manySwedes would be among the more than 20 million visitorsexpected. (AGI). .
