These recentlyincluded a show in Sao Paulo on "Vespa: an Italian icon" andone in Rio de Janeiro on "Leaders of Italian Design". There isalso a growing interest in the use of design in business. Therehave been several bilateral missions by businessmen, especiallyin the footwear industry. The special place that design has inItalo-Brazilian relations was confirmed when the BrazilianMuseum of Sculpture (MUBE) in San Paolo hosted "Exchanging &Shaping the Space - O Design Made in Italy" in May. It includedworkshops, lectures and an exhibition devoted to facets ofItalian design. Further conferences have been devoted to "Italydesign in Brazil". There was a contribution from architect anddesigner Pedro Paulo Franco Santoro on May 13; and "The Poliproject.
