ITALIAN CONSULATE IN LONDON HOLDS "PRIMO APPRODO" SEMINAR

(VELINO) Roma, 11 Sep - The Italian Consulate General inLondon, at the request of the Embassy, will hold a seminarentitled "Primo Approdo" (First Landing), a project targetingyoung Italians planning to settle in England and Wales. Theevent is scheduled for Sept 25 and will focus on employment(how to do a job search, how to draft a CV, tax and legalissues, etc.) and health care (who is your GP, how the NHSworks, etc.). A "Practical handbook on how to approach life inEngland and Wales" can still be accessed on the Consulate'swebsite. It was drafted by Consulate staff in collaborationwith experts of the different sectors that will be dealt within the workshop. The "Primo Approdo" project aims to provideuseful information to all young Italians moving to the UK forprofessional and linguistic training or to seek jobopportunities. The Italian Consulate has already organisedthematic workshops three times a month which focused onspecific topics: the legal framework, tax regulations, medicalassistance, and academic opportunities. The young people canalso access the online Handbook which aims to provide the firstpractical information on local life to people moving to the UK.The project was symbolically dedicated to the memory of JoeleLeotta, the young Italian who was murdered in Kent on Oct 20last year. vel.
