(AGI) Tokyo, Oct 13 - The Italian ambassador in Tokyo, DomenicoGiorgi, celebrated architect Mario Bellini, an internationallyrenowned Italian designer who has collaborated with Japanesearchitecture firms and designers for over 30 years. The event,organised to promote Bellini's new "Cab Chairs" collectionwhich is distributed in Tokyo by Cassina, an Italian high-enddesigner furniture producer, saw the participation of over 300guests from the world of design, architecture, real-estate andspecialised media. The ambassador's residence, already animportant showcase for high-end Italian interior decorationproducts thanks to the one-year old collaboration between majorItalian design companies, was the backdrop to Cassina's mosticonographic pieces reconstructing the designer's artisticevolution from the end of the '70s. The initiative, AmbassadorGiorgi said, is part of a broader project aimed at re-launchinga sector that offers ample space for Made in Italy brands andcollaboration between Italy and Japan but that, in recentyears, has suffered the competition of other producers.
