Shanghai - Italian high-tech Finmeccanica Group aims to strengthen its already consolidated presence in the Chinese market with increasingly innovative products. China has a very dynamic aerospace and technology market, whose growth prospects in many sectors "undoubtedly gives us a competititve advantage," Giovanni Soccodato, director of Finmeccanica's Market and Business Development Strategies told AGI in a note. He continued: "We intend to start from here in strengthening our role, offering better products and comprehensively integrated solutions capable of fully meeting the expectations of the Chinese market." On display at the Shanghai fair are two scale models of the AW169 twin-turbine helicopter and of the AW119Kx light single-engine helicopter. In China, Finmeccanica offers solutions to support airport activities with over 80 air traffic control systems operating in major civil airports, as well as new future options for the 50 more airports planned for 2020. "More than 50 AgustaWestland helicopters are flying across Chinese skies, most of which in the performance of public utility missions and in service with most of the Country's major police forces, including those of Beijing and the province of Zhejiang. This province plans to use four of our helicopters during the G20 summit scheduled in the city of Hangzhou next September," Mr Soccodato wrote. (AGI)
