Angola: Italian business mission signs fishery agreements

Luanda - An Italian business mission composed of eight businessmen will be in Angola between June 11 and 12 for contacts with local entities with the objective to sign commercial and production agreements in the fisheries, shipping and like. The information was given by the Italian embassy in Angola, through its monthly newsletter for the month of May.

According to the publication, the travel of the Italian delegation to the country is an initiative of the office of the Italian Companies Internationalization Agency (ICE) in Luanda. The agency will present the Angolan market to the Italian operators and promote collaboration between companies from both countries with the aim of realizing commercial and production agreements.

The missions activities will be carried out in the country's capital, Luanda, and in the coastal provinces of Zaire, Kwanza Sul, Benguela and Namibe, where visits to operational facilities and institutional meetings are planned. The visit is focused on the capture, preservation and processing of fish, the sale, construction, maintenance and repair of vessels. It also aims to sell machinery, equipment, services and infrastructures for fishing and nautical, aquaculture in the open sea, production and sale of salt, as well as training and technical assistance for the production and commercialization of various sea products.

The event is aimed at companies, cooperatives, business associations, professionals, consulting firms, organizations and institutions. This is the second Italian business mission that comes to Angola this year on the initiative of ICE. In February, a business mission was held in Luanda to initiate cooperation in agriculture and sustainable rural development in women-run cooperatives, a project run by the Angolan Ministry of the Family and the Promotion of Women. Representatives of CONFIMI (Confederation of the Italian Manufacturing Industry), UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization), Coopermondo-Confcooperative (Italian Confederation of Cooperatives) and Etimos, a network of organizations promoting microcredits mainly in agriculture was in Angola.
