La Vallette - Art Camp Malta is about to start its second edition, which will take place in Gozo from May 7 to 20. Italy will be represented by Agnese Purgatorio. Following its successful debut in 2015, the event will take place under the aegis of Hedva Ser, UNESCO Peace Ambassador and godmother of the event.
The project, promoted by the Maltese National Commission fro UNESCO and UNESCO's Associated Schools National Coordination, does not only showcase original and creative works of art, but is meant to highlight UNESCO's key values - the sustainability of Peace and the protection and promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expression.
Art Camp is a "concrete and accessible way to nurture and educate young generations towards intercultural skills and dialogue. Art has the power to speak to the heart of people without the distinction of origins, language, gender and beliefs," pointed out UNESCO Director General, Irina Bokova.
