Merkel urges EU summit on migrants next week

(AGI) Berlin, Sept 15 - An extraordinary EU summit needs to beheld on the migration crisis, German Chancellor, Angela Merkel,urged European leaders on Tuesday. "It is a problem for theentire European Union and therefore we argued for a special EUsummit to be held next week," she explained in Berlin aftermeeting Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann. "Donald Tusk[European Council President] will look into that," she added.Mr Faymann agreed: "An EU summit is urgent and necessary." Robert Fico, Prime Minister of Slovakia, backed the call andsaid the crisis cannot be just discussed at ministerial level.
