(AGI) Baltimore (Maryland, U.S.A.), April 20 - A video takenwith a cell phone, even if slightly less explicit than the onethat nailed the agent who shot the Afro-American in the back inNorth Charleston, is raising controversy around the behaviourof the police in Baltimore, Maryland. On April 12, the policearrested 25-year-old Freddie Grey without an official reason.Freddie Grey died seven days later in the hospital, where hewas being treated for fractures in his neck and backbone. "Helapsed into a coma, died, was resuscitated...He clung to lifefor seven days and died today," the family's lawyer, BillyMurphy, told the Baltimore Sun on Monday. The video fails toclarify what exactly incited the three agents to arrest Grayand push him into the police van, although Jerry Rodriguez, theBaltimore Police Deputy Commissioner, explained that Gray couldhave been engaging in a criminal activity. However, it wasagain Rodriguez who later said that the reasons for the arrestwere "a bit vague" and that they have "no physical, video orany other evidence of an altercation" that would lead to Gray'sinjuries. An investigation is underway, although Murphy said hewas not expecting too much from the results: "We believe thepolice are keeping the circumstances of Freddie's death secretuntil they develop a version of events that will absolve themof all responsibility."
