Two-time Oscar winner Luise Rainer dies at 104
(AGI) Los Angeles, Dec 30 - Actress Luise Rainer, the firstwinner of two consecutive Oscars, has died at the age of 104.Her only daughter, Francesca Knittel-Bowyer, said her motherhad died from pneumonia at her London home. Rainer was born toa Jewish family in Dusseldorf, Germany, and became a star ofHollywood's golden era. She won her first Academy Award forBest Actress in 1936, at the age of 27, for The Great Ziegfeld.Her second Oscar for Best Actress came a year later for TheGood Earth in 1937.
