Gay rights group urges FIFA to crack down on homophobia

(AGI) Los Angeles, July 12 - The FIFA World Cup is a homophobicevent, a U.S. gay rights group said on Friday. "At a time whenmore of the world than ever loves the sport of soccer, itsbiggest tournament, the World Cup, is starting to be known asan anti-gay event,' said Sarah Kate Ellis, president and CEO ofthe Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD).
