Merkel urges Poroshenko to use restraint against rebels

(AGI) Berlin, July 11 - German Chancellor Angela Merkel hasurged Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to use a sense ofproportion in Ukraine's actions against separatists. "TheChancellor urged President Poroshenko to maintain a sense ofproportion in his legitimate actions against the separatistsand to protect the civilian population," German governmentspokesman Steffen Seibert said after a telephone call betweenMerkel and Poroshenko.
