Italian company to supply Cameroon football teams with kit

(AGI) Yaounde', Mar 13 - Italian company Garman has signed acontract with the Cameroon Professional Football League to bethe official kit supplier for the 36 teams in the first andsecond division for the next four years. The contract is basedon a mixed formula of sponsorship and supply of sports materialworth 300,000 euros per year, for a total of 1.2 million eurosover the course of the contract. The agreement also includesinitiatives and awards sponsored by the Italian company that,on the occasion of its visit to Cameroon, held meetings withuniversities and other sports federations to explore thepossibilities of cooperation in other areas. On the horizonthere are also opportunities related to the African Nations Cupfor women and men that will be hosted in Cameroon in 2016 and2019. Contacts between the Cameroon Professional FootballLeague and Garman were opened by Roger Milla, a former playerfrom Cameroon who won two Africa Cups with the IndomitableLions, played for several teams in France and is now advisorfor sport and roving ambassador for the Presidency of theRepublic. The signing of the agreement was also attended byItalian ambassador to Yaounde, Samuela Isopi, who stressed thesymbolic value of this new partnership, which in a popularsport like football, is an outstanding vehicle for thepromotion of Italian products in a country with an increasinginterest in quality.
