Football: AC Milan signs Mihajlovic as new coach

(AGI) Carnago, June 16 - AC Milan have officially appointedSinisa Mihajlovic as their new coach, after sacking FilippoInzaghi. The news was announced on Tuesday morning, afterMihajlovic signed a two-year contract worth around two and ahalf million euros. The whole process from interview to signingtook exactly 13 days. Some had thought an agreement would bereached with Inzaghi, a former Milan player, despite adisappointing season. On Tuesday Mihajlovic visited Milanheadquarters for the ritual photographs, appointments andtechnical meeting at Milanello with his staff and Milanemployees. Nenad Sakic is the new deputy coach, Antonio Bevenziand Vincenzo Manzi the physical trainers. Mihajlovic placesgreat importance on tactics, and has thus appointed RenatoBaldi and Emilio De Leo as technical/tactical advisers. AlfredoMagni has been kept on as goalie coach. Mihajlovic has beeninvited to dine with Silvio Berlusconi at Arcore on Tuesdayevening, along with Adriano Galliani. The discussion willrevolve around modules and the football market: 4-3-3 or4-3-1-2, depending on the state of play, with the possiblerenewal of several contracts - players Bonera, Mexes and DeJong - the removal of several strikers (9 to date), and a heftybuying campaign.
